Offered the first Saturday of each month (January 2024–May 2024), free Access Mornings at MoMI are dedicated to families with children on the autism spectrum and give families an exclusive opportunity to explore exhibitions and participate in workshops that begin at 11:00 a.m. before public hours begin. Activities range from hands-on craft-making to digital video workshops facilitated by trained Museum educators and local puppeteers. To reduce overstimulation in the galleries the volume is reduced or turned off and videos unrelated to the program’s theme are kept off. Complimentary breakfast and coffee will be provided. This program is funded by the Butler Foundation.

Participate with Earth Celebrations' Ecological City: Art & Climate Solutions Workshops and collaborate with our artists-in-residence Lucrecia Novoa, creating giant paper-mache puppets. Artistic works are featured in the Ecological City - Procession for Climate Solutions celebrating local climate solution initiatives throughout the community gardens neighborhood and waterfront on the Lower East Side of New York City.

Born from a talking piece of wood carved by the old Geppetto, the rebellious, cheeky and careless Pinocchio discovers the meaning of growing up through a thousand trials. To become a real boy, he will have to face Mangiafuoco, the terrible Puppet Master, suffer the malice of Mr. Fox and his sidekick, the Cat, escape from Toyland and save his father from the belly of the giant fish! PINOCCHIO from Tout à Trac is another amazing journey into the heart of childhood and imagination.

“Hao Bang Ah!” is a common Chinese expression meaning “Great!” or “Well done!” Each year, Chinese Theatre Works celebrates the Lunar New Year season with an original “budaixi” traditional Chinese glove-puppetry production that features the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac. This year’s show stars the Dragon, who presides over a jolly selection of wild puppet skits, dances, popular songs, and well-known Chinese sayings that celebrate the wit and wisdom of the zodiac animals.

WonderSpark Puppets is a New York City based puppet theater company led by Chad Williams and Z Briggs. The company's mission is to spread joy, spark imagination and share laughter through high quality puppet performances. Their shows are often found in schools, shuls, libraries, parks, and other exciting locations. They have toured internationally, bringing original productions and puppetry workshops to festivals in Thailand and Taiwan. From March 2020 they streamed hundreds of live puppet shows for families in quarantine and streaming schools. Our mission is to spread joy, spark imagination and share laughter through high quality puppet performances.

Together they battle Yacu the River Creature and do whatever it takes to stop him from destroying the waters of the river and all that live there. Ages 4 and up! The Adventures of Seucy and Boto is an episodic series for kids about the adventures of Seucy, a brave little girl who, along with her friends Boto, half-child/half-dolphin, Itzpapalotl, Sasha, Ceneotl, Pachamama, battles any obstacle in order to keep the Amazon Jungle safe and protect the plants and inhabitants of the rainforest from harm.

THE ADVENTURES OF SEUCY AND BOTO is the first in a series about the adventures of Seucy, a brave little girl who battles the tree-eating monster, Mapimguari, with the help of her pal Boto, half-boy/half-dolphin and other amazing friends from the Jungle including: Itzpapalotl the Butterfly, Sasha the Anaconda, Ceneotl the Frog, and Pachamama. The Adventures of Seucy and Boto uses dance, puppetry and music to tell imagined stories from South America. Created and performed by Loco 7, this popular family-friendly series has been in performance since 2014. Loco7 Dance Puppet Theatre Company, founded by Colombian born artist, Federico Restrepo in 1985, develops and promotes creative productions of Dance, Theatre, Puppets,Visual Arts, and other forms of artistic expression. The company explores the junction of race, culture, and history in New York and throughout the global community. Loco7's cultural policies emphasize pluralism, dialogue, and cultural transformation. Loco7's artistic mission has been to develop the use of puppetry as an Instrument for the dancer, a style that incorporates dance and design. The undertaking of the ensemble is to deal with themes such as South and Central American Culture and History, the Immigrants' experience, and New York City Urban Life.
